8/25/15 NEWPORT BEACH MAIN LIBRARY is a great place..i hope they don't allow it to become "ghetto"

SO i TRULY APPLAUD newport beach library for all they have done at the main location...I have been coming & going for many years now ...and watched them as they did the new construction..and added the media center, among other things. They also usually have good events, some free, others not. And usually the atmosphere is generally good, but every now and then you get people coming to the library with LOTS of bags, and sometimes they sit at the computer with ALL their stuff, as you can see from the above photo. She has a 99 cent bag next to the monitor, a bottle of hand cleaner next to the keyboard, another black object next to the hand cleaner, and leaning on the left side is a big backpack or something. Plus this is August 2015 (ie summer, hot weather) and she's wearing a heavy jacket as if she was in Chicago in the winter or something. I don't know what is necessary to prevent this from becoming too prevalent ...maybe just a general rule about too many bags. I guess you can't tell a person not to wear a heavy jacket in the summer, but she's not the only one. There are others. I don't know where they come from...are they sleeping in the bushes somewhere at night? I am a gracious person who tries to help people...they ask for help sometimes I give a dollar or two, or at least a kind response and encouraging words. But at the same time there should be basic enforcement of rules that prevent what I simply call a "ghetto" atmosphere. This is newport beach. Let's keep it NICE !
