that's been my experience at most of the episcopal churches I've visited...they have MORE CLIQUES than at many other churches. They are usually smaller than the average catholic church, and seem to have life-long members who become very intimate with each and not so open to newcomers. I definitely felt that from a few, but the priest himself was very welcoming and another guy also made a deliberate effort to say hello and welcome me.
