THIS is NOT really a good swimming beach...and the beach itself is quite rocky , not sandy., but there is a good wading area..sometimes the middle section has decent waves..; it's mostly latino families and their kids...meter parking next to the water, free parking up above ...one lifeguard on duty on the side where there's no people...not sure why. if you want a nicer beach in the area...keep going towards terranea. they have a nice beach & public parking. also abalone cove is good, but dangerous for some people (a few have drowned there).
