Everybody says go to discount tire or Les Schwab if you want a free tire repair, but that's only if you want to wait several hours too because they're always backed up busy. Furthermore the big companies always are telling you that you probably can't do it because it's too close to the side or some other excuse so they try to sell you tires. Although Les Schwab is better about it than discount tire.
So I actually just pulled in here with a very slow tire leak and I saw the screw immediately right in the center of the tire so it was an easy plug. I made sure to ask beforehand the cost because then they can't change it. They wanted 20 for a plug or 40 for a patch. I thought the patch price is a little ridiculous so I said well I'll just take a plug I guess.
The guy who did the work on the tire was pretty nice you know one of those friendly Mexicans with a good demeanor, but the guy who charged my credit card was a little grouchy. He's like one of those Mexicans who calls every white guy "boss" which is a barely veiled insult. Any time a Mexican calls me " boss " I call him boss back. So I said "THANKS BOSS." Which I could see pissed him off because he thought he was pretty special. π

Oh, if you pay by credit card it's 22 . And this was a gift to them because as soon as I saw the screw I realized I can do this plug myself and I even have the equipment in my car, but I thought well they already lifted it up so I'll just pay it - it's an EASY $20 FOR THEM
